If This, Then That is a free service which allows one to trigger certain actions occurring based on a number of factors. For example:

• Get a weather forecast a x time daily.
• Save new iOS contacts to Google Contacts.
• Receive notifications if the pollen count is high.
• Log all calls received into Google Calendar.

It is fairly consumer friendly and one of the largest services available.
